Homeopathy
has been
developed
over 200
years to
provide an
individual
and specific
treatment
for each
person. Natural
herbs and
minerals
are used
in preparation
of remedies,
which can
act quickly
in acute
conditions
to relieve
bruising & toothache
or to reduce
the craving for
substances,
including
tobacco. They
can also
act on the
emotional
level to
relieve panic,
anxiety or
grief.
Practitioners
find that
children
respond especially
well to treatment
and BirMAH
is now working
more in this
field, to
prevent long-term patterns
of destructive
behaviour
and habits
from forming.

The
escalating
costs of
conventional
treatment
cannot be
sustained
and are placing
a huge burden
on the country.
The National
Treatment
Agency has
reported
an 89% increased
contact in
their treatment
services
by drug misusers
from 1998
to 2004.
As escalating crime figures
are often
fuelled by
the need
to meet cravings, homelessness
is punctuated
by periods
in shelters,
prisons or
derelict
sites, heightening
the need
for drugs
or alcohol
to ‘get
by’.
This vicious
cycle often starts when young people leave home or school early, which can leave them increasingly vunerable and at risk due to the lack of support structures around them.
There
is a growing
body of evidence
that
homeopathy
is an
effective
aid
in helping
vunerable
people through
a wide range
of health
and drug
related issues.
In the last five years
the Birmingham
Alliance
of Homeopaths
have used
their combined
experience
to increase
the awareness
of homeopathy
as a vital
tool in restoring
and improving
health. At
the same
time, the
cost of homeopathy
remains low,
where dozens
of patients
can be treated
for a few £s
and the remedies are easily
portable.
